When I was younger I could eat anything I wanted and then could jump on the elliptical for 20 minutes and drop a few pounds. I was spoiled. I had no discipline where food was concerned. And then AGING happened. My metabolism slowed way down! My weight climbed.
I exercised a lot – I got a personal trainer and he pushed me hard. I kept gaining. I didn’t know what to do. This went on for about 6 years until I found myself wearing skirts and sweats all the time because pants were no longer comfortable. I was unhappy.
I started calorie counting and doing more varied workouts including more cardio. Calorie counting helped me realize where I was eating empty calories so I changed what I was eating. I lost 15 points because I learned to eat better. This was part one of my weight loss journey.
A year and a half ago I became a Beachbody coach, started 21 Day Fix and Shakeology. I only tried this particular program because several of my customers purchased it and I thought it made sense to do it with them. I wasn’t looking to lose weight but 21 Day fix helped me break through my weight plateau and lose 5 more pounds.
I learned to eat better without feeling hungry.
Here are my pictures from July 2010 and July 2015 wearing the same dress. I am slimmer, healthier and feel great. Exercise is part of the battle and eating right makes all the difference.
